Fun Things to Do in Pasig City

Fun in Pasig City

Metro Manila is one of the fastest-growing metropolitan areas in Asia. It is the capital of the Philippines, which houses most of its business and government offices. It is unique among others. Although people normally think of “Manila” when the nation’s capital is mentioned, many do not realize that what people think of as one “Manila” is actually a composition of over a dozen cities, each with its own government, set of laws, cultures, and sights.

One of the smaller cities comprising this metropolis is Pasig City. Although it was primarily a suburban area in years past, it has since risen to become one of the most modern and business-friendly areas in Metro Manila, all while retaining its quaint, small-town charms. Although many will frequent the city for business or work matters, there are many other activities to do here.

Here are some of the fun things that you can enjoy in Pasig City:

Enjoy a Stay-cation

As business has picked up in the area, so has the demand for hotels and condo units. As a result, today there are a number of modern condo developments, some of which are still yet to be finished. Others are available pre-selling condo units. High-class residences will soon come to dominate the landscape of Pasig City in the years to come.
Hence, a trip to one of these is an ideal way to spend a long weekend. Hotels such as Ace Water Spa, which is home to herbal and hydrotherapy pools that help relax body and mind, as well as apartments by developer DMCI, are some of the more popular destinations for “stay-cations” among locals. This is a quick and easy way to unwind and bond as a family.

The district known as Barangay Kapitolyo is heaven for food lovers who are always looking for some new restaurants to try out. There are all types of cuisine and dining options available, from snacks to full meals and desserts. Cafes in the area are also nice and quaint. Most options here are locally-owned, with a few big-name brands in sight.

The East Drive is home to restaurants that are quite affordable and well within the budget of most people. But if you are looking for a more upscale and fine dining experience, there are also many high-end restaurants in nearby Capitol Commons and West Drive. Have some active fun

There are plenty of places to check out if you are looking for some healthy doses of fun. Pasig City is home to Climb Central Manila, the largest of the few indoor sport climbing venues in the country. If climbing might be too difficult, you can simply let all your cares go in the Trampoline Park, where all the fun of jumping and hopping around will bring back all your childhood memories. Those who want a more affordable version of fun can also simply take a stroll in the many recreational parks and green spaces in the city. No matter what you choose, you are bound to have an enjoyable time.

Although it may be sometimes overlooked on the visit list compared to the famous Makati or old Manila areas, a visit to Pasig City will still be worth your time. Most definitely, it will be a one-of-a-kind experience that you are sure not to forget anytime soon.
